The problem

Every two hours, someone has to turn the patient.

Current solutions rely on pressure redistribution mattresses that require strenuous repositioning every two hours by staff and caregivers. That drives hospital labor costs, and every turn carries a risk of further injury to the patient as well as injury to the caregiver.

2.5 millionAmericans affected by pressure injuries
60,000deaths annually
$26.8 billionannual cost to healthcare providers
U.S. figures, per LeviSense Medical. Cost estimate originates with Padula & Delarmente (2019), as reported by the National Pressure Injury Advisory Panel.
The Pro-Daptive™ solution

Programmable immersion, visible on screen, adjustable in seconds.

  • See what the patient feels. The monitor shows selected settings and the actual pressure in each of the 14 zones.
  • Change therapy without moving the patient. One touch reaches any of the five modes, and the pressure change is instantaneous.
  • Offload a specific wound. Select zero pressure at the heel or create a cavity under an existing wound.

For the treatment and prevention of decubitus ulcers

Pressure injuries or bed sores.

TREATMENT

  • Stage III, Stage IV and unstageable pressure injuries
  • High acuity patients with severe wounds

PREVENTION

For those at high risk of developing pressure injuries, such as patients who are bed-bound or have mobility limitations due to:

  • Spinal Cord Injury, MS, ALS, CP
  • Post stroke, amputation, and other mobility limitations
  • Rehabilitation from disease or injury
FLOTATION SURFACE WITH ENHANCED ISOLATED AIR FLOW™

A new generation of therapeutic flotation.

The Pro-Daptive SensorCell Flotation Surface is a powered advanced care mattress that provides a new generation of therapeutic flotation. LeviSense combines SensorCell™ technology with surface visualization and control to achieve what traditional surfaces can’t: programmable immersion and outstanding envelopment for unmatched pressure redistribution and comfort, with meaningful labor and cost savings across the continuum of care.

SENSORCELL™ ARRAY — RESPONSE DETAIL

Key features and benefits

Superior immersion and envelopment, in a simplified, accessible platform.
A single SensorCell™ held in the hand
SENSORCELL™ ADAPTIVE SUPPORT

Hundreds of cells, each reacting on its own

Hundreds of independent SensorCells™ caress the body. Each cell has a 2.4-inch diameter and reacts independently to control the pressure and provide exceptional envelopment. They automatically adjust to body contours providing stable, custom pressure relief.

EXTRAORDINARY IMMERSION

Flotation at extraordinarily low pressure

SensorCells offer a deep immersion surface that permits flotation at extraordinarily low-pressure settings, with up to 5 inches of deep immersion cradling up to 40% more surface area than most low air loss surfaces.

The SensorCell™ Surface Monitor in Immersion Mode at 26 mmHg
THE SENSORCELL™ SURFACE MONITOR

Caregivers see what the patient feels

An intuitive touchscreen interface visualizes what the patient feels and offers precise, instantaneous adjustments. The screen shows the user-selected pressure settings and monitors the actual pressure in each of the 14 zones.

FLOTATION CONTROL

  • Pelvis, legs and foot section Hundreds of independent SensorCells™, 2.4-inch diameter, each reacting independently to control pressure.
  • Torso section Quality high volume air cells with adjustable support and pressure redistribution.

ADJUSTMENTS

  • Pressure range Adjustable from 0 to 70 mmHg.
  • Zones 14 independently adjustable modules.
  • Memory Featuring memorized adjustments.
  • Repositioning Countdown timer.

CAREGIVER SETTINGS

  • Navigation One finger touch navigates instantly to all 5 of the primary modes. The pressure change is instantaneous.
  • Monitoring The screen shows the user-selected pressure settings and monitors the actual pressure in each of the 14 zones.
  • CPR 2 alternatives for quick access.

What the pressure range means in practice

Every SensorCell adjusts from 70 mmHg to 0 mmHg, in 2 mmHg increments.
70 mmHgTRANSFERS AND CPR

Firm enough to facilitate transfers in and out of the bed, greatly reduce the effort required to reposition a patient, and firm enough for CPR.

15–32 mmHgREST AND HEALING

The patient can find a mattress firmness suited to their own preference for rest and healing.

0 mmHgOFFLOADING

Depressed cells will not push back up, creating a cavity to offload a wound, a void to cradle a painful area, or floating the feet and heels. No more boots.

< 30 secuninflated to the firm mobility setting

Monitor in Immersion Mode at 26 mmHg
02Immersion Mode

Preset to 26 mmHg. The pressure can be raised or lowered by 2 mmHg increments for clinical or comfort reasons.

Common questions

The three we are asked most often.

What is SensorCell™ technology?

Hundreds of independent cells, each 2.4 inches in diameter, form the pelvis, legs and foot section of the surface. Each cell reacts independently to control pressure, so the surface conforms to body contours and provides envelopment rather than holding one uniform pressure. The torso section uses high volume air cells with adjustable support.

Which patients is this surface intended for?

It is intended for the treatment and prevention of decubitus ulcers. On the treatment side, that includes high acuity patients with severe wounds such as Stage III, Stage IV and unstageable pressure injuries. On the prevention side, it is for those at high risk, such as patients who are bed-bound or have mobility limitations from spinal cord injury, MS, ALS, CP, stroke, amputation, or rehabilitation from disease or injury.

How many therapeutic modes are there, and how do you change between them?

Five: Mobility, Immersion, Custom Immersion, Heel Flotation and Cavity Creation, and Dynamic Off-Loading. One finger touch navigates instantly to any of them, and the pressure change is instantaneous. Dynamic Off-Loading and CPR access are available as additional functions.

Reducing the hardships of being bedridden — for patients, caregivers and providers.
